  Debbie Allison, M.S.

Debbie Allison is Senior Director of Global Competitive Intelligence at Merck & Co., Inc. She has been with
Merck for 28 years and worked in the competitive intelligence arena for over 7 years.  Debbie leads the
effort to ensure that Merck's competitive and strategic information systems and processes remain premier
within the industry. Her responsibilities also include providing competitive intelligence to the oncology
franchise.  Debbie earned a Bachelor's degree in chemistry from The College of William and Mary and a
Master's degree in medicinal chemistry from The Ohio State University. Debbie joined Merck in 1979 as a
Medicinal Chemist, supporting programs focused on discovery and development of anti-inflammatory
agents. Debbie left the labs in the mid 1980s to lead a cross-divisional, international effort to put real-time
chemical structure and reaction information at the chemist's desktop through a complete transformation of
computer-based information systems. The subsequent move to the Competitive Information group was a
perfect fit for Debbie's talent in assimilating data and computer systems with user's need for strategic insight.

    Jeffrey Beeny

Thermo Fisher Scientific

Jeffrey Beeny is the Senior Manager of Business Intelligence at Thermo Fisher Scientific.  

From May 2006 through November 2006, he was a key member of the Fisher Scientific anti-trust team
working on the company’s $10.6 billion merger with Thermo Electron. In support of the company’s
regulatory filings, Mr. Beeny managed the business intelligence process, an essential component of
approval from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and European Commission (EC). He joined Fisher
Scientific in January 2006 with the responsibility for strategic, market and competitive analysis in support of
corporate initiatives and strategic decision-making.

Prior to joining Fisher Scientific, Mr. Beeny was the Principal Market Analyst, Competitive Intelligence at
EMC Corporation. At EMC, Mr. Beeny was responsible for competitive and market analysis for the company’
s corporate strategy focused on information lifecycle management. Prior to EMC, he was the Manager of
Competitive Intelligence at Genuity, where he led competitive and strategic analysis initiatives for senior
management. In the mid- to late-1990s, Mr. Beeny was a Risk Financing Analyst at Liberty Mutual and a
Scientist for The Gillette Company - Duracell. He holds a B.S. General Science in Chemistry from Purdue
University and earned an M.B.A. in Finance and Strategy from Boston College. Mr. Beeny has been a
member of the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals since 2000.
  Francois Bernier

Dr. Francois Bernier has been working for Eisai Co. Ltd in Japan since 1997. He has been actively involved
before as a neuroscientist to develop selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs) for various indications
and gamma-secretase modulators for Alzheimer`s Disease. Under his leadership, the teams were able to
discover two NME. Both drugs are now under clinical evaluation and promise to address important un-met
medical needs of the elderly.

In 2004, he turned his interests towards strategic planning and was involved in developing Eisai current
midterm business plan.  As a manager in the Strategic Research planning department, Dr. Bernier
developed the global competitive intelligence function at Eisai and supported Eisai research expansion in
burgeoning Asian markets that include India and Singapore. Recently, he joined Eisai CEO Office and is
responsible to manage global R&D resources allocation and strategic technology investments. His job
duties takes him to various Asian countries, the US and Europe. He has been a member of SCIP since 2005
and speaks fluently French, English and Japanese.
    Chris Bogan

GlaxoSmithKline, Genentech, J&J, Amylin, Sanofi-Aventis, AstraZeneca, Amgen, Novartis, Roche, Baxter

Mr. Bogan led the consulting teams that assisted both Federal Express and GTE Directories (now Verizon) in
winning the prestigious Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. He has also advised many leading
corporations outside the healthcare sector, including industry leaders such as Microsoft, American Express,
AT&T, General Motors, BellSouth, Chevron, Exxon, Xerox, Verizon, Marriott, Merrill Lynch, Siemens,
KPMG, the New York Times Company, J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., TIAACREF, Nortel Networks, Pitney
Bowes, Bank of America, Wachovia and many others.

A guest lecturer at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and the University of North
Carolina’s (UNC) Kenan Flagler Business School, Mr. Bogan has spoken widely before business audiences in
North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America. He is an advisor to various management magazines on
best practice and management issues. He currently serves on the UNC Academic Leadership Institute’s

Dr. Branimir Brankov is a professional manager and marketer with a medical and business background and
more than 15 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry.  

Dr. Brankov is currently responsible for Strategic Business Intelligence Group which is part of the Global
Competitive Intelligence Unit established in the Merck Headquarter in Whitehouse Station, N.J., U.S.A. In
this capacity, his main functions include managing global projects and initiatives, conducting competitive
analysis and providing guidance to Merck Executives and Global Marketing Teams on strategy
development.  

In his previous roles at Merck, Dr. Brankov has been Global Leader for Physician Communities of Practice
initiative at Merck. As part of the Global market research team in Merck Headquarter he has been
responsible for providing global market research and business intelligence support for several therapeutic
areas. Before his assignments in Merck Headquarter Dr. Brankov was responsible for establishing and
managing independent subsidiaries for Merck & Co., Inc. in Bulgaria, Macedonia and Albania.  

Dr. Brankov received his M.D. from the Medical University of Sofia and practiced at the Military Medical
Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria, specializing in Neurosurgery. In 2001, he obtained a Masters’ Degree in
Economics from the Economics University of Sofia, with concentration in Human Resources; and, in 2003,
he earned a Masters’ Degree in Business Administration from Rutgers University, New Jersey, with
concentration in Marketing and Management. He is active member of PBIRG, SCIP and MRII.
  Avis L. Bridgers

Nerac Analyst Avis L. Bridgers works closely with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to analyze
patent portfolios, identify complimentary intellectual property and licensing opportunities and to track new
technology and regulatory trends which are likely to impact their businesses. With more than 20 years of
experience as an innovative researcher, leader, and consultant in the pharmaceutical and biotech
industries, she has the expertise to identify opportunities and risks, to troubleshoot processes, and to avoid
the pitfalls of new ventures. Before joining Nerac, Ms. Bridgers founded a consultancy which helped
pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies optimize lead drug candidates early in the development
process. She has held leadership positions in biotechnology and contract research organizations. In her 15
years at Glaxo and Glaxo-Wellcome, Ms. Bridgers built her expertise in preclinical drug development, high
throughput absorption and metabolism screening and bioanalysis. Ms. Bridgers also developed in vitro
models of absorption to enhance the understanding of drug transporters, key differences in the various
routes of absorption and mechanisms of absorption enhancement.

Ms. Bridgers earned a master’s in organic chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and
bachelor’s in chemistry at S.U.N.Y. Oneonta. Among her areas of expertise are preclinical drug
development, in vitro absorption models and assays, metabolite isolation and purification, transporters and
transport mechanisms, delivery of small molecule drugs and biologics, culture of immortalized cell lines,
cell-based assay methods, and bioanalytical methods development and instrumentation. She is a member
of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists. She has published numerous articles in
scientific journals and is an ad hoc reviewer for Biochemical Pharmacology, Journal of Pharmaceutical
Sciences, and Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics.
  Peter Burke

Dr. Peter A. Burke serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for STERIS Corporation.
He joined the Company in March 2001.

Dr. Burke is responsible for STERIS’s research, development, and regulatory functions.  He works closely
with the Company’s marketing, sales, manufacturing, and support functions to facilitate new applications of
current technologies, leads the development of new technologies from conception to commercialization,
and monitors and assures compliance with applicable regulatory requirements for the Company’s products.  
Dr. Burke also serves as a key member of the Executive Management team, and helps to assure that the
Company’s technological capabilities support and enhances STERIS’s growth objectives.  

Dr. Burke holds a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Rutgers University; a Master of Science in
Microbiology from Seton Hall University; and Masters and Doctorate of Philosophy Degrees in
Microbiology/Biochemistry from St. John’s University. He also is a Fellow of the American Institute of
Chemists, a member of the New York Academy of Sciences, and a member of Sigma Xi. Dr Burke has
authored over 15 patents and 20 publications in chemical, microbiological, biochemical, and
dermatological sciences.
  Jack Bush

Jack Bush joined Alcon Labs, Inc. as the Director of Global Pharmaceutical Market Intelligence in 2005.
Jack is a 20 year Marketing Intelligence professional. Previous to Alcon, he worked for Merck KGaA as their
Global Head of Business Research and Analysis. He held a global team dedicated to providing primary
research, secondary data analysis, competitive analysis, and forecasting. Prior to that position, he held
various global and domestic positions at Glaxo-Welcome, now known as GSK, Roche, formerly known as
Boehringer Mannheim and Merrill-Dow Pharmaceuticals.  His career experiences also include Strategic
Planning, International Marketing, and New Business Evaluation.  His experience spans across the
pharmaceutical and diagnostic industries.  

Jack graduated from the University of Indianapolis in 1977 with a B.A. in Biochemistry.  Jack also attended
Indiana University’s School of Medical Technology and received a B.S. in 1978 and is registered with the
American Society of Clinical Pathologists.  In 1985, Jack received his Masters in Biology and Business
Administration from the University of Indianapolis.

As Director, Global Pharmaceutical Market Intelligence, Jack leads a global team with the responsibility for
primary market research, secondary market data analysis, competitive intelligence, forecasting and new
business/product assessments.
    Deborah Dauber

Deborah Dauber has been with the Genentech Competitive Intelligence group for two and a half years.  
She is currently serving as interim head of the CI group in addition to her primary responsibility as
immunology lead, supporting decision making for both R&D and Commercial immunology teams.  

Deborah has led competitive intelligence initiatives to investigate key competitors (product and
company-level), evaluate revenue impact of competition, and assess full market landscapes.  Prior to
joining Genentech, Deborah was a Consultant with WWMR, Inc., where she worked with clients to design
and execute market/opportunity assessments and managed the analyst team on custom projects.

She has a B.S. in Chemistry/Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor,
and a Ph.D. in Chemistry and Chemical Biology from the University of California, San Francisco.

Tom Daulton is the Vice President and General Manager of Cardinal Health’s Global Interventional
Specialties and Medsystems Divisions, These divisions are dedicated to Interventional Radiology devices
used in Body, Spine Pain and Venus interventions And advanced Enternal Feeding products respectively.

Mr. Daulton has been in the medical industry for 20 years.  Starting his career at IBM in their Medical
Software business and moving to Baxter Healthcare, Allegiance Healthcare and Cardinal Healthcare (all
through a series on company merges and divestures).  Tom has held numerous senior leadership positions
in Marketing, Corporate M&A, Sales, and General Management – both domestic and internationally.

The majority of his career has been in manufacturing divisions ranging from Pharamseal Anesthesia and
Operating Room Division, Airlife Respiratory Care, Thermal Systems, Health Systems, Post Acute Care and
Special Procedures Radiology Division.  Tom Has sat on numerous industries trade and association boards
including AORN (American Operating Room Nurses)  NSCA (National Sub acute Care Association),  AARC
(American Society of Respiratory Care), AvaMed (formerly HIDA/ HIMA) and the SIR Corporate Advisory
Board.

Tom has had considerable experience with in/out licensing, co development with physicians and
companies, and has led multiple acquisitions, licenses and divestures for Baxter, Allegiance and Cardinal
Health

Joseph DeVivo, 41, is president of the company's Orthopaedic Reconstruction & Trauma business unit.
DeVivo joined Smith & Nephew in June 2007. DeVivo has 18 years of marketing, development, sales,
operations and executive leadership experience, having most recently served as President and Chief
Executive Officer of RITA Medical Systems, Inc., a pioneer of radiofrequency ablation technology, which
was acquired by AngioDynamics in 2006.  Previously, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer of
medical robotics company Computer Motion, Inc., where he helped turn the company’s performance
around ahead of its merger with Intuitive Surgery, Inc in 2003.  From 1993 to 2002, DeVivo was at United
States Surgical (USS), a division of Tyco Healthcare, where he held a wide variety of roles, including Vice
President and General Manager of the USS/DG Sutures division, Senior Director of global marketing and
Director of Product Development.  DeVivo holds a B.S. in Marketing and Management from the University

  Carolyn J. Foster

Dr. Foster joined Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals in 2001 and now heads the Competitive
Technical Intelligence group for cardiovascular and autoimmune diseases.  In that capacity, she analyzes
the external environment in the context of internal business issues, especially where technology is a factor.  
Her internal clients include R&D, Marketing and Medical management and the analysts that support them.

Prior to her CTI career, Dr Foster spent 20 years as a biochemical pharmacologist in Cardiovascular Drug
Discovery at Schering Plough working on drugs to treat hypertension, atherosclerosis, thrombosis, and
Parkinson’s Disease.  Her published research focuses on G-protein coupled receptors and platelet function.   

Dr. Foster studied chemistry at Swarthmore College, received an M.S. in biochemistry from Brown University
and a Ph.D. in pharmacology from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She did post-
doctoral research at the University of Pennsylvania in human genetics.  She is a Fellow of the New York
Academy of Sciences where she has served as a member the conference planning committee, as Chair of
the Biochemistry Section, and  as head of the Biochemical Pharmacology Discussion Group, an academia-
industry consortium.
    Robert Franc

Robert Franc has over 26 years of Competitive Intelligence Experience; 12 years working for the US
Government and 14 years in the pharmaceutical industry. He has developed CI programs in the US,

  Sean D. Freston

Sean Freston is the Managing Director, Asia-Pacific for Proactive Worldwide.

Sean has 15 years of experience living in and conducting business with China and the Asia-Pacific region.  
Over the past three years he has been based in Shanghai tasked with business development in Asia for a
global CRO. In his previous role with Proactive Worldwide, Sean led the pharmaceuticals practice in
conducting domestic and international competitive intelligence engagements. Over the course of five
years, he was intimately involved with decision support projects across multiple therapeutic areas from early
discovery through marketing/lifecycle management initiatives.

He holds an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management, Arizona, and a BA from the University
of Puget Sound, Washington.  
  Monika Giese

Monika Giese  is currently the Head of Global Competitive Intelligence at Novartis Pharma at their strategic
HQ in Switzerland.  

Before working at Novartis, Monika worked for GSK,  Solvay, IMS International and F.Hoffmann – La Roche.
Her experience  ranges from information management via market research and business analytics to a
variety of functions in competitive intelligence.

Monika  is a biologist by training, and also holds certified degrees in pharmacology, Information Science,
Market Research and Competitive Intelligence.
She’s currently also a member of the Strategic Insights Leadership Forum.
    Erik Glitman

Erik Glitman is a founder and Managing Director of Fletcher/CSI and serves as the Director of Global
Operations, Research, and Strategy.  As a founder of Fletcher/CSI, he has been active in the Competitive
Intelligence industry for over 15 years. He has worked with clients in areas such as automotive, electronics,
Healthcare, IT, kitchenware, machinery, pharmaceuticals, and Telco.  

As an active part of the Fletcher/CSI consulting practice, Erik has extensive experience in working with

Neil was previously Executive Vice President, Global Marketing and Strategy for Wolters Kluwer Health’s
Pharma Solutions division in Parsippany, NJ.  There he was responsible for new product development,
brand management, advertising and promotion, public relations, market research, and competitive
intelligence.  Neil also managed the organization’s editorial resource center (ADIS) in Auckland, NZ and its
IT functions.  Prior to this, Neil was Senior Vice President, Strategy and Commercial Development, as well
as Senior Vice President, Marketing and Sales at Advanced Clinical Communications in Lambertville, NJ.  
Before Advanced, Neil was Senior Vice President, and founding Managing Director of Torre Lazur
Managed Care from 1996-1999, responsible for provider communications and patient preparedness
programs, compliance and persistency projects, health risk assessments, patient education, wellness and
prevention initiatives, and advocacy group development.  He joined Torre Lazur Healthcare Group in
August 1996 from Physicians World Communications Group in Secaucus, where he was Vice President,
Account Manager, and managed the company's education business in radiology and surgery.  Prior to
Physicians World, he was Vice President, Management Supervisor at Health Learning Systems, a
CommonHealth USA company.  Neil has over thirty years of industry experience, including time as Director
of Marketing for Livingston-based Saint Barnabas Medical Center, New Jersey's largest acute care hospital.  
Neil also has worked for Medical Economics, McGraw-Hill, CBS/Holt Rinehart Winston, and John Wiley &
Sons publishers.

and field sales.  

Mr. Han started his pharmaceutical career in field sales and was successfully promoted to positions within
sales operations and marketing at Bristol-Myers Squibb.  He then moved into marketing roles at both
Novartis and Schering-Plough.  Mr. Han has had the opportunity to hold leadership roles on both small and
blockbuster brands.

In his current role, he is responsible for leading the product candidate identification and commercial
assessment process for Biovail.  This includes forecast development and market research to validate and
quantify the risks associated with each opportunity across multiple therapeutic areas.

Christian Hein has been working with Actelion Pharmaceuticals for 2 years, building up the Business
Intelligence and Market Research department from scratch. Actelion, headquartered near Basel,
Switzerland, is one of the leading biopharmaceuticals worldwide. Founded in 1997, the company now has
3 products on the market, and has generated 2007 revenues of over CHF 1.3 bn. At Actelion, Christian is
responsible for all global competitive intelligence and market research activities, focussing on more than
16 indications for both in-line and development products.

Before joining Actelion, Christian has been working as a strategy consultant and venture capital investor for
the biopharmaceutical industry. Christian holds advanced degrees in biotechnology and molecular biology
from Strasbourg University and a Master's degree in Strategic Management from HEC Business School in
Paris.
    Richard Hendriks, Ph.D.

Nerac Analyst Richard Hendriks, Ph.D., partners with pharmaceutical companies to discover the most recent
clinical trials for new agonist or antagonist compounds, and analyzes prior art in the field of drug
combinations to treat certain conditions. His work centers on drug actions, neuroscience, and human and
animal studies. Dr. Hendriks also has researched such topics as “Nitric Oxide in Combination with NSAIDs to
treat Muscular Dystrophies,” and “Therapeutic Applications of Alpha-1 Adrenergic Agonists.”  He has a Ph.D
in neuroscience from University of Melbourne, Australia, and a background in the area of electrophysiology.
Dr. Hendriks has received several grants and fellowships from the National Institutes of Health and the
National Science Foundation. He has been a principal investigator for various studies. Dr. Hendriks’ early
research focused on neuronal receptor pharmacology, including a compound that was commercialized as
Tropisetron. His subsequent research moved to the subject of the central nervous system and included an
investigation into the role of potassium channels in embryonic neuronal migration as part of an
investigation into potential cures for deafness. Dr. Hendriks has authored dozens of published articles and
abstracts on such topics as physiology and electrophysiology. Besides neuroscience and electrophysiology,
Dr. Hendriks’ areas of expertise include neurophysiology, pharmacology, receptors & ion channels,
biophysics, developmental neuroscience, drug development, electrophysiology, bioengineering and

Jerry Hoffmann has been actively involved in competitive intelligence since 1989.  In that year, after a
variety of positions with SBC Communications*, he was called upon to establish the company’s first
corporate-level CI organization.  From that time until his retirement in 1998, Jerry led SBC’s competitive
intelligence function through a period of enormous change, both in the telecommunications industry and
within his company.  At the time of his retirement, he was director of all of SBC’s competitive intelligence
operations throughout the United States.  

In 1998, Jerry joined Eli Lilly and Company as an advisor to the director of the company’s newly formed
corporate competitive analysis function.  What began as a limited engagement has since become a new
career.  Jerry manages the implementation of Lilly’s CI processes, designs and conducts CI projects and

of the scientific and technological environment based on a proprietary technology (described in the
literature below).  One of my maps of science was selected as the highlight of a six month exhibit at the
science & industry branch of the New York Public Library; was archived in their permanent map collection
and was subsequently published in Nature [Dec 12/28, 2006 p.985].  My most recent contract with the
University of California at San Diego focused on a major improvement in the methodology for visualizing
the structure of academic scholarship in order to better understand the relationship between the natural
science, social sciences and the humanities.     

My primary professional association is with SCIP (The Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals).   I
was elected to the SCIP Board of Directors (1993-1996) and served as President in 1994.   In 1999, I

hematology market research in the Wyeth BioPharma business unit.  Since early in his career at Wyeth,

MEDRAD and has done so for the last 3 years. His current responsibilities include: leading Corporate
Strategic Planning efforts, working with MEDRAD’s European businesses to identify and develop potential
business growth vehicles, working with the CT business unit to identify and develop business growth vehicles
and investigating new business initiatives from a strategic marketing and Voice of Customer perspective. Mr.
Ranchod earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from the College of Wooster, a Master of
Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Virginia and a Master of Business Administration
from Syracuse University. He spent approximately 7 years as a Product Manager in the field of
pharmaceutical robotics and has worked in academic technology transfer, healthcare strategic marketing
consulting and venture capital. His interest in competitive intelligence stems from his need to learn about
niche markets prior to providing recommendations on various business initiatives.

Sam Rosenbaum has been with the Philips Healthcare for two years. He is currently serving as Manager of
Global Market Research in the Ultrasound Division supporting new product introductions along with strategy
and business development.

Sam has led competitive intelligence initiatives to investigate key geographic and clinical market
landscapes and led core teams in development of new products strategies utilizing the Value Proposition
House process. Prior to joining Philips Healthcare, Sam was a Senior Market Research Analyst with Bristol-
Myers Squibb – Medical Imaging, where he supported marketing and business development with
competitive intelligence and market research.

He has a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from the Hobart College and is pursuing his MBA from
Babson College.

Wayne is a Distinguished Fellow at the Center for Biomedical Innovation at MIT working on healthcare
strategy and policy issues related to science and medicine.&n bsp; He is also Chairman, President and a
member of the board of directors of the Personalized Medicine Coalition, a Washington DC based
organization working with government and other agencies on evolving healthcare policy for Personalized
Healthcare, and Chief Applications Officer for SciTech Strategies focusing on scientific competency and
capacity development for academia and industry.  He is a former Director of External Relations for the
Personalized Healthcare Team and Evidence-based Medicine (EBM) as part of External Medical Relations
at AstraZeneca where he had responsibility for long-range external relations strategy and policy
development.  He is active on several strategy and advisory boards at different organizations including the
C-Path Institute, Georgetown University, IBM, HP, and the Personalized Healthcare Initiative in the
Secretary’s office at Health and Human Services.  He has presented at numerous forums on aspects of
personalized healthcare, evidence-based medicine, new development paradigms, and strategy
development.  He holds an S.B. in Biology from MIT, a Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology from Boston
Univ., and received post-doctoral training in Cancer and Radiation Biology at the Univ. of Rocheste r.  
Wayne lives in Malvern, PA, is married with two college-age children, and enjoys teaching martial arts
(Tang Soo Do), restoring antique/classic Fords, and aviation history.
    Bill Sammon

Bill Sammon is Sr. Director, Strategic Information and Analysis, World Wide Investor Development and
Strategy at Pfizer Inc, New York City, NY.  His responsibilities include: 1) supervising financial analyses and
industry studies assessing competitive threats and strategic opportunities in Pfizer’s business environment, 2)
providing strategic business intelligence to senior executives, and 3) leading the Corporate Business
Intelligence Advisory Group BIAG which advises business units and product management teams in the
development and management of their internal and external business intelligence resources. The Corp.
BIAG manages Pfizer’s relationship with all consultants contracted for primary business intelligence (BI)
projects at the Company.

Mr. Sammon earned a BA in political science from Boston College, an MA in political science from the
University of Chicago and an MBA from Long Island University.  He’s worked at Pfizer since 1982 in various
planning and policy positions at both the corporate and operating group level (Corporate Affairs, Corporate
Strategic Planning, US Pharmaceuticals, and Investor Relations).  He’s also held managerial and staff
positions in the military, academia and the investment community.

Following a decade of service in the Regular Army in infantry and military intelligence assignments in
Vietnam, Washington, DC, the Pentagon and the US Military Academy at West Point, New York, Bill
transferred to the US Army Reserve retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1996.  He’s a graduate of the Army’s
Military Intelligence Schools and the Command and General Staff College.  From 1979 to 1982, he worked
at International Paper, New York City in Corporate Communications and Corporate Planning.  He helped
International Paper establish its first industry/competitive analysis function.  Bill also worked on Wall Street
as a sell-side stock analyst following the pharmaceutical industry from 1987 to 1990.

He is the editor and author of an early professional book on competitor analysis, Business Competitive
Intelligence, (John Wiley & Sons, 1984) and contributing author of a chapter on strategic business
intelligence to the Handbook of Strategic Planning, (John Wiley & Sons, 1986).  Bill is active in the Society
of Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP) and frequently presents on the role of business intelligence
in executive decision-making and strategic planning.
    Indra Sethy-Coraci

Indra Sethy-Coraci joined Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals in 2004 after completing her
postdoctoral studies at Columbia University and is now a Principal Analyst in the Competitive Technical
Intelligence group supporting autoimmune diseases/immunology.  Prior to graduate school, her other
industry experience includes approximately five years at Genentech in the departments of Manufacturing,
Process Development Sciences and Cardiovascular Research.   

Dr. Sethy-Coraci received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering at the University of California, Davis, a PhD in
Biochemistry at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed her postdoctoral training in the
laboratory of Dr. Samuel C. Silverstein in the department of Physiology and BioPhysics at Columbia
